Our Centre at the heart of campus

Integration is key at INTO Newcastle University, and students are deeply involved in the campus attending classes in Kensington Terrace, at the heart of the university campus.

Teaching takes place in a variety of locations across the university campus, and many of the classrooms are equipped with interactive SMART boards, networked computers and data projection. Many English language classes are taught in recently refurbished multimedia suites equipped with the latest in language learning and interactive technology.

Dedicated INTO classrooms are used for lectures and seminars, while students studying science use the University's science laboratories for their practical classes.

Classroom facilities include:

  • interactive SMART boards
  • SANAKO 300 language learning software
  • multimedia suites
  • access to university laboratory facilities

Facilities for the future

The INTO Newcastle University is also undergoing an exciting time of innovation and investment. The brand new INTO Centre, opening in 2012, will provide a world-class student experience, where students live and learn together.

With brand new classrooms, computer clusters and even a laboratory, the new INTO Newcastle centre will lead the way in studying on a developing, modern campus.

As an INTO student, you have full access to the University's facilities, including the award-winning Robinson Library and the Language Resource Centre.

University Library

The Robinson Library has more than one million books, and provides access to over 100,000 electronic resources, catering for a wide range of subject interests.

Additionally, the Walton Library in the Medical School and the Law Library offer specialised in-depth research materials for Health and Law students respectively.

  • 200 networked PCs in the Robinson Library
  • 1,300 networked PCs beyond the main library, some with 24-hour access
  • Writing development, Maths-Aid and general library assistance available
  • DVD and CD checkout for language learning

The Language Resource Centre

In addition to the library facilities available for your academic improvement, the Language Resource Centre is a valuable hold of language learning tools. From borrowing DVDs, to partnering with a native speaker to practise your language skills, there are tools available for every type of learner.

Wherever you are on campus, you will never be far from outlets selling nutritious cuisine. Newcastle University's catering varies from cafes to restaurants and often offers halal and vegetarian options. There is also a loyalty card scheme which ensures value for money.
